Speed Pool King: clear the rack before the timer hits zero
Speed Pool King is a top-down solo pool game by Happylander in which you race a countdown clock to pot as many balls as possible. There is no opponent at the table; the in-game instructions simply say to pot as many balls as you can before the time runs out. The rail above the cloth shows TIME and RACK, and the rail below shows MULTIPLIER and SCORE. Each rack sets nine colored balls in a diamond on a six-pocket table. In our test the break sank two balls, the score went from 0 to 100 and then 210, and the multiplier stepped from 1.0x to 1.1x and 1.2x, so a run of pots is worth more than the same pots spread out.

How to play Speed Pool King
The goal is points, not a win over another player. Every pot adds to your score, and the clock keeps running while you line up each shot.

Start a rack
Press the blue play arrow on the title screen, then again on the How to Play card. The table opens with the cue ball on the left and the rack on the right.

Aim from the cue ball
Touch or click the cue ball; a ring around it marks where to press. Drag back away from the direction you want to shoot.

Release to strike
Let go and the cue ball travels opposite to your drag. GamePix says the length of the pull sets the power and guide lines help with the angle.

Keep potting
Sink balls one after another to raise the multiplier. GamePix's rules add that the cue ball must stay on the table and the 8 ball comes last.

Each pot in our test added 0.1x to the multiplier, and the second pot scored 110 instead of 100.
Clock instead of an opponent
The countdown keeps running between shots, so thinking time costs points in a way it never does in two-player pool.
Racks in sequence
A RACK counter on the top rail numbers each set of balls, starting at Rack 1.
Nine-ball diamond
Balls are racked in a diamond rather than the fifteen-ball triangle, which leaves a shorter rack to clear.
Tips for Speed Pool King
- Break hard. The opening shot sank two balls in our test and lifted the multiplier before a single aimed shot.
- Shoot quickly on easy balls. The clock ran from 1:58 to 1:53 while we waited, so hesitation on a simple pot wastes seconds.
- Leave the cue ball near the next target. GamePix recommends spin for position; a short cue-ball path means a shorter drag for the next shot.
- Keep the cue ball out of the pockets. The GamePix rules say to clear the balls without sinking the white.
- Plan the 8 ball last. GamePix says to finish with the 8, so leave it where it is easy to reach at the end.

No opponent means you shoot every ball yourself, which gives more practice per minute than a match.
Score chasers
The multiplier rewards consecutive pots, so there is always a higher total to aim for.
Players with a few minutes
A timed round ends when the clock does, so a session has a fixed length.
Score, multiplier and time
Every pot adds to the SCORE counter. The first pot in our test was worth 100 points at 1.0x, and the multiplier then rose to 1.1x, making the next pot worth 110 and bringing the total to 210. The MULTIPLIER field showed 1.2x after two pots. The round is limited by the TIME field, which counted down from about two minutes. We did not see what resets the multiplier or whether clearing a rack adds time, so those details are left out here.
