Penalty Kick Wiz: take the kick, then face it in goal

Penalty Kick Wiz is a 3D penalty shootout game by DParrot in which you play both halves of the duel: you shoot for your national team, then stand in goal and try to save your opponent's kicks. Shooting is a timing test — a target slides back and forth along the bottom of the net and your click stops it. Saving is a reaction test — the target only appears once the other side has struck the ball, and you click it to dive. Each side gets five attempts, with extra kicks on a tie, and beating a run of teams wins a cup. Of the soccer games on What Games Play, Head the Ball and Goal Skibidi Goal are open-play duels, and Foot Chinko World Cup is a pinball-style kick; Penalty Kick Wiz is the one built around shootouts, and it keeps a lifetime record of cups won, matches played, goals scored and shots saved on its title screen.

How to play Penalty Kick Wiz

A match is a shootout against one team. You alternate between taking a kick and defending one until a winner is certain, then move on to the next opponent.

Choose a nation
Press PLAY, pick a flag on the "Select your team" grid and press NEXT. Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina, France, England, Spain and the Netherlands start locked.

Stop the moving target
When you shoot, a target slides along the bottom of the net. Click the left mouse button to stop it; the ball goes where it stopped.

Click to dive
In goal, wait for the kick. The target appears only after the shot is taken, and clicking it sends your keeper toward it.

Win the series
Each team has five kicks, counted in the top-left corner. Knock out one team after another to win cups.

Tips for Penalty Kick Wiz

Vary your placement. GamePix's guide warns against shooting to the same spot twice in a row.
Do not dive before the target shows. In goal there is nothing to click until the kick is struck, so an early click wastes the save.
Click ahead of the target. It keeps moving back and forth, so start your click a moment before it reaches the corner you want.
Count the kicks left. The tally in the top-left corner shows when one more goal or save settles the shootout.
Start with an unlocked mid-table side. Two dozen teams are open from the first match, which is enough to learn the timing before chasing the locked ones.

How a shootout is decided

Each team takes five penalties, and the shootout ends as soon as one side leads by more than the other can still make up. If the teams are level after five, additional kicks are taken until a winner is found. Your goals and saves feed the totals on the title screen, and beating teams in sequence wins cups.
