Jet Boat Racing – Boat Controls, Nitro and Racing Tips

Jet Boat Racing is RHM Interactive’s boat-driving game with Free Drive and Racing modes. You can explore ramps or race for first place, alone or with another person on the same keyboard. Steer the boat, choose when to use NOS and keep the next stretch of water in view rather than treating every ramp as a shortcut.

How to play

Learn steering in Free Drive, then race with a route in mind. Both modes include local two-player play.

  1. 1

    Select the drive mode

Pick Free Drive to inspect ramps and camera views, or Racing to chase a finishing position. Either mode offers one-player or local two-player controls.

  2. 2

    Keep the next turn visible

Look beyond the bow and line up before a narrow ramp or turn. Change the camera in an easier section so the view shift does not interrupt a difficult approach.

  3. 3

    Choose a useful NOS moment

Player 1 uses F for NOS and player 2 uses K. Choose an open heading first; boosting also reduces the time available for steering corrections.

  4. 4

    Finish races and review boats

First-place race finishes can unlock boats, according to the distributor. Inspect the selection afterward rather than assuming every win opens every boat.

Keyboard controls

Desktop controls

  • A solo Jet Boat Racing driver moves with WASD or arrow keys; F activates NOS.
  • Solo and player 1 controls: R resets position, T looks back, and C switches the camera.
  • In a local race, player 1 keeps WASD and F, while player 2 uses arrow keys and K for NOS.
  • Player 2 uses P to switch the view and O to reset the boat’s position.

Phone and tablet

  • Jet Boat Racing is listed as Mobile Ready: No by its distributor. Choose a keyboard-equipped computer for steering, NOS and camera commands instead of expecting a tested touch boat controller.

Game features

Exploration beside competition

Free Drive lets you explore boat movement and ramps; Racing turns that route knowledge into a contest for finishing position.

NOS as a timing decision

NOS is available on the boats described by the publisher. Use it where the heading and open water make extra speed worthwhile.

Two boats on one keyboard

Distinct steering and boost keys support local two-player driving in both modes on a shared keyboard.

Practical tips

  • Align with the ramp and landing direction; a jump facing away from the course wastes progress.
  • Practise camera changes in Free Drive before relying on a different view for narrow approaches.
  • Reset an awkward boat position, then inspect the route before using NOS again.
  • An entertaining exploratory ramp is not automatically the fastest path to first place.

Who might enjoy it

Players learning vehicle alignment

Boat routes reward attention to the approach and landing direction. Free Drive offers room to practise those observations.

Friends who enjoy local racing

Two local drivers can compare their ramp approaches and NOS timing in a direct shared-device challenge.

Goals, score and progress

Racing aims for first place, with first-place results linked to boat unlocks. Free Drive instead supports exploration and stunt practice. Read the current result and selection screens; published instructions do not establish a universal point table for NOS or jumps.

Game questions answered

What are the two Jet Boat Racing modes?+

Free Drive supports exploration and ramp practice. Racing gives a finishing-position contest. Both are described as available for solo or local two-player driving.

Which keys activate boat nitro?+

F activates NOS for the single player or player 1; K does so for player 2. Set the heading before adding speed.

How does player 2 reset or change the camera?+

Published controls give player 2 O for position reset and P for camera. Player 1 uses R and C instead; keep the utility groups separate.

How can additional boats be unlocked?+

The distributor links first-place finishes to boat unlocks. Check the current selection screen after a race; no fixed required-win count is established here.

Can I rely on phone controls for Jet Boat Racing?+

Use a keyboard-equipped computer. Mobile Ready is marked No, and the steering, NOS and utility controls are documented as keyboard actions.
