ATV Ultimate Offroad – Driving Controls and Racing Tips
ATV Ultimate Offroad is RHM Interactive’s off-road driving game built around races and a large free-driving map. Use an ATV to follow race routes or explore for money and gears that help unlock more vehicles. Local two-player controls let a second person join on the same computer with a separate set of driving keys.

How to play
Decide between racing and exploration. A collecting detour may be useful in Free Drive but costly in a contest.
- 1
Select a race or free drive
Pick a race or exploratory free drive. Read the active objective: a contest calls for its route, while the free map gives room to inspect terrain and collectibles.
- 2
Steer before adding speed
Steer with WASD and learn the ATV’s response before adding nitro. Keep a clear path over uneven ground; extra speed leaves less time to correct a poor heading.
- 3
Use camera and reset deliberately
Change the camera when a slope is hard to read. Reset an unhelpful position with your player’s key, then check the new heading before accelerating.
- 4
Review the unlock options
Earn money or gears through races and free-map play, then inspect ATV requirements in the selection screen. Do not plan around an assumed unlock price.
Keyboard controls
Desktop controls
- ATV driver 1 uses WASD to move, Left Shift for nitro, C for camera and R for position reset.
- ATV driver 2 uses arrow keys to move, M for nitro, K for camera and P for position reset.
- Keep the selected player’s key group together; a second player does not use the first driver’s reset or camera keys.
Phone and tablet
- The ATV Ultimate Offroad distribution entry does not mark mobile readiness. Use the computer controls above; touch steering and a phone layout for both drivers remain unverified for this version.
Game features
A map beyond the race
Free-map driving offers terrain exploration and resource collection between races, giving you a different reason to use the landscape.
Vehicle choices to unlock
Multiple ATV choices are unlocked through in-game progress. Read each requirement rather than assuming an identical cost or resource.
Separate local driver controls
Both local drivers have separate movement, nitro, camera and reset keys, useful for comparing approaches on one computer.
Practical tips
- Choose an open heading before nitro; correcting an approach usually matters more than speeding up badly.
- Look beyond uneven ground to where the ATV should end up after crossing it.
- Collect deliberately, then check actual vehicle requirements instead of guessing whether your resources are sufficient.
- Let the second driver learn M, K and P before starting a difficult local section.
Who might enjoy it
Players who like exploratory driving
Open-map exploration suits players who want to inspect terrain and gather vehicle resources between competitive attempts.
Local racing partners
Two drivers can practise together while using independent key groups for route choices and boost timing.
Goals, score and progress
Use the current race objective to judge completion; Free Drive supports exploration. Money and gears contribute to ATV unlocks shown in the selection menu. The sources do not give a universal score for every jump, pickup or minute of driving.
Game questions answered
Which controls does player 2 use in ATV Ultimate Offroad?+
Arrow keys move player 2; M activates nitro, K changes camera and P resets position. Player 1 instead uses WASD, Left Shift, C and R.
What can I do in Free Drive?+
Explore the large map and gather resources for ATV unlocks. That purpose differs from following the active race route toward a contest result.
How do I unlock another ATV?+
The official description links unlocks to money or gears earned in races and free-map play. Inspect current vehicle requirements; fixed prices are not verified here.
When should I use the position reset?+
Reset when the ATV’s placement blocks useful progress: R for player 1 or P for player 2. Check the heading and nearby terrain afterward.
Is ATV Ultimate Offroad verified for touch play?+
Use the documented computer keys. The distribution page marks Mobile Ready as No; phone steering and a two-driver touch layout remain unverified.
