Aidan in Danger: a slingshot, the last dragon and a monster from the future
Aidan in Danger is a 2D pixel platformer by Magnific Studios in which Aidan, a young red-haired elf armed with a slingshot, protects Drakor, the last dragon on Earth, from an interdimensional villain who wants to capture the dragon and rule the world. It carries more story text than the studio's other platformers on this site: after a language choice of English, Spanish or Portuguese, text pages explain that Aidan trained with his slingshot until he was one of the best shooters in his village, and that a monster from the future came through a portal from another dimension. A dialogue scene then shows Aidan talking to Drakor in a night forest. The move set is also larger, with a roll, a dash and a pause key on top of the usual move, jump and shoot. The game is sold on Steam and Google Play as well.

How to play Aidan in Danger
Aidan crosses night-time forest levels and later travels through time, fighting monsters and bosses to keep Drakor out of the villain's hands.

Pick a language
The first screen shows three flags. Choose the United States flag for English, Spain for Spanish or Brazil for Portuguese.

Start and choose a level
Select START with the pointing-hand cursor, then choose level 1 from the row of level buttons.

Read or skip the story
Story pages advance with the E key, and the dialogue scene with Drakor has a Skip option in the corner.

Move, jump and shoot
Level 1 shows on-screen hints for moving with the arrows and jumping with W. Shoot with X or J, roll with C or K, and dash with Space.

Roll and dash on separate keys
Compared with Super Oliver World or Super Droid Adventure from the same studio, Aidan adds a roll on C / K and a dash on Space, which the GamePix hint says is key to avoiding enemy attacks.
A story told in pages and dialogue
Typed-out story pages and a conversation with Drakor set up the plot before level 1, and Drakor himself appears in the dialogue scene.

Three languages

Tips for Aidan in Danger
- Learn the dash early. GamePix's pro tip is that timing the dash is how you avoid enemy attacks; practise it on Space in the first level.
- Use the slingshot at range. Aidan's weapon is a projectile, so hit monsters with X or J before they get close.
- Try the roll as well. The roll on C or K is a separate move from the dash; try both to see which gets you past a given attack.
- Skip the story on replays. Press E through the text pages and use Skip on the dialogue to get to the level faster.
- Pause with P or Tab. Stopping the game gives you time to plan a boss pattern.
