The Superhero League: three throws to clear the rooftop

The Superhero League is a level-based physics puzzle game in which a costumed hero faces armed men in black suits and has to take them all down with a limited number of throws. You hold on the screen, drag to set the direction and release, and the hero fires a straight white line across the level. A row of web-shaped icons at the top shows how many throws are left; the first two levels both start with three. Level 1 has a single enemy on a city rooftop, level 2 has two, and clearing a level pays coins toward the heroes you unlock later. The game is drawn as a tall column in the middle of the frame, with blue fill on both sides.

How to play The Superhero League

Each level is a small scene with your hero on one side and one or more villains on the other. The level ends when every villain is down.

  1. 1

    Start from the title screen

Press the yellow Start button under the hero. Your coin total sits in the top-left corner of the title screen.

  2. 2

    Hold and drag

The level opens with the hint "Hold and drag to throw". Press on the screen and drag to point your throw at a villain.

  3. 3

    Release to throw

Let go and the hero fires. A hit knocks the villain flat, and one web icon at the top disappears.

  4. 4

    Clear and move on

With every villain down you get the "Awesome" panel with stars and coins, then Next Level loads the next scene.

Controls

Desktop

  • Press and hold the left mouse button anywhere on the level

  • The yellow arrow in the top-left corner leaves the level

What sets The Superhero League apart

Three throws, no more

The web icons at the top are your ammunition for the level. Miss with all three and there is nothing left to fire.

Stars on every clear

The clear panel rates the level with up to three stars and pays 20 coins; our first clear on level 1 earned all three.

A roster of heroes to unlock

GamePix's description says new heroes open as you progress, and the title screen carries a Hero button marked New.

Plays in a phone-shaped column

The game draws a tall, narrow scene in the middle of the embed, the same shape it would have on a phone screen.

Tips for The Superhero League

  • Budget throws per villain. Level 2 puts two villains on the rooftop and still gives you three throws, so one miss is all you can afford.
  • Keep holding until the angle is right. Nothing fires until you release, so you can keep adjusting the drag as long as you hold.
  • Check the icons before each throw. The web icons at the top tell you whether this is your last shot for the level.
  • Decide on the 60-coin button. The clear panel offers 20 coins, plus a second 60-coin button marked with a video icon.
  • Look at the scene before you fire. GamePix describes the levels as puzzles, so find the line that reaches every villain first.

Who is The Superhero League for?

Mr Bullet-style puzzle fans

One-line aiming puzzles where the goal is to drop every enemy in a scene.

Short-session players

A level is one screen and a few throws, so it fits a short break.

Players who like unlocking characters

Coins from each clear go toward new heroes from the Hero menu.

Stars, coins and throws

A level is won when every villain is knocked down, and it is scored on the clear panel with up to three stars. Each clear pays 20 coins to the counter in the top-left corner; our coin total went from 10 to 30 after level 1. The panel also shows a 60-coin button with a video icon. The throw counter is the only limit we saw inside a level: three web icons at the start of levels 1 and 2, one fewer after each throw.
