Tap Road: read the next obstacle before you switch
A glowing ball rolls forward automatically, leaving you one immediate decision: stay in the current lane or switch. Obstacles and rising speed turn that simple choice into a test of timing and attention.
Track essentials
- The glowing ball moves forward automatically
- Click or tap to switch between the two lanes
- Avoid the numbered blocks on the road
- After a collision, click to return to the starting ball
How to begin a run
Keep the route ahead in view, rather than watching only the ball.
- 1
Follow the hand prompt
The starting ball appears with a hand prompt. Click inside the game and watch the ball switch to the other lane. Once it is moving, forward travel is automatic; your job is to choose its lane.
- 2
Read the numbered obstacles
Watch for numbered blocks ahead. If a block occupies your lane, switch before reaching it. Check the next obstacle too, so one safe change does not lead straight into another block.
- 3
Keep the switches deliberate
Each click changes the lane again. Give each input a purpose and avoid rapid extra clicks when the ball is already on a clear route.
- 4
Return after a collision
Hitting an obstacle makes the ball burst. Click after the collision to return to the starting ball and its hand prompt, then try the route again with earlier observation.
Lane-switch controls
Mouse
- Click the left mouse button inside the game to switch lanes.
- The ball rolls forward automatically, so you do not need to hold an acceleration key.
- After the ball bursts, click to return to the starting ball.
- Watch the lane after every click: an extra click sends the ball back again.
Touchscreen
- The official control description lists tapping the screen to switch lanes.
- Tap inside the play area and avoid covering the upcoming obstacles with your finger.
- If your device does not respond to touch, use a desktop mouse. Touch behavior can differ between devices.
What changes as you play
One input, a changing route
There are only two lanes, but each upcoming block changes which one is safe. Reading ahead matters more than clicking as fast as possible.
Numbered obstacles on a neon road
The glowing ball and numbered blocks make the immediate route easy to identify. Focus on where the blocks stand and the space between consecutive obstacles.
A quick return to the start
A collision bursts the ball. Clicking afterward returns you to the starting position, giving you another chance to improve the timing that ended the previous attempt.
Build a better switching rhythm
- Choose the safe lane before an obstacle gets close to the ball.
- Look past the nearest block and plan what the following obstacle will require.
- Avoid repeated clicks without checking the result; every extra click reverses your lane choice.
- Adapt your timing to the ball’s pace instead of keeping a fixed tapping rhythm.
- After a collision, distinguish a late switch from a switch into an occupied lane. Practice the decision that actually failed.
Who might enjoy this road
Fans of quick reflex games
The immediate control is easy to understand, while a longer attempt needs attention to upcoming obstacles.
Players who learn through repeated attempts
Collision feedback and the quick return to the start make it easy to focus on one timing mistake at a time.
Make distance your objective
Keep the ball moving for as long as you can without hitting a block. A useful goal for each new attempt is to survive the kind of obstacle sequence that ended the last one. Read the positions of the numbered blocks and the gaps ahead, then choose your lane with room to react.
Tap Road questions
Do I need to control forward movement?+
No. The ball rolls forward automatically. Click or tap to change lanes and avoid the blocks ahead.
How should I handle the numbered blocks?+
Treat them as obstacles to avoid. Watch their lane and the next block’s position so you can plan the safe route before the ball reaches them.
Why did another click put me back in danger?+
Each click switches the lane. An extra click can reverse a safe change, so check where the ball is before making the next input.
How do I try again after a collision?+
When the ball bursts, click to return to the starting ball with the hand prompt. Use the next attempt to change the timing or lane choice that caused the crash.
