Sprunki: build a mix, then listen to what changes
Sprunki turns choosing characters into arranging music. Add sounds to the lineup and hear how their repeating parts work together. The next decision is yours: keep the combination or try a different voice.
Before you start
- Seven character positions and twenty sound icons
- Drag sounds onto characters to build a repeating music mix
- Mute, solo or remove individual sounds
- Use the circular arrow at the top right to reset the lineup
How to make your first mix
Use the seven character positions to build your mix from the twenty sound icons.
- 1
Place the first sound
Drag a sound icon onto an empty character. The character changes appearance and animates, giving you a visual cue that the sound has been assigned. Listen to this part before adding more.
- 2
Build a combination
Drag a different icon onto another empty character. Add layers gradually and listen to their repeating parts together. You can use up to seven positions, but a smaller arrangement makes individual sounds easier to compare.
- 3
Edit what you hear
Use the speaker icon below a character to mute its part, the headphone icon to hear it solo and X to remove it. Use the circular arrow at the top right when you want to reset the lineup and start a new combination.
Mixing controls
Mouse
- Drag a sound icon onto one of the seven characters; twenty icons are available to choose from.
- Below an assigned character: speaker for mute, headphones for solo and X to remove the sound.
- The circular arrow at the top right resets the lineup.
- Click inside the game before interacting. If you cannot hear the mix, check device volume and the browser tab mute setting.
Touchscreen
- A desktop mouse is the recommended way to drag icons and select the small character controls.
- On a touch device, try dragging from a sound icon to a character inside the game.
- If the touch gesture does not respond, use a desktop mouse; touch behavior can vary by device.
What makes the mix interesting
Twenty choices, seven positions
Choose sound icons for a lineup of seven characters. Each new part changes how the repeating music fits together.
Listen to the layers separately
Mute a part to hear what it contributes, or use solo to focus on one character. Remove a sound when you want to rebuild that position.
Listen before adding more
- Begin with a sound you can follow easily, then add layers around it.
- Change one choice at a time to hear exactly what improved or weakened the combination.
- Let the repeating parts settle before judging a mix; rapid changes make comparison harder.
- Use a comfortable volume so quieter parts remain audible without making the whole mix overwhelming.
Who might enjoy Sprunki
Music experimenters
Try different character combinations and compare their effect without needing to read music notation.
Players who like creative decisions
The activity centers on choosing and listening, so a satisfying sound combination is a useful personal goal.
Set a goal for your mix
Aim for a combination you can recognize and repeat. Begin with one sound, add two or three complementary layers, then mute a part to compare the result. Try making one steady arrangement and a second with a different mood. The reset arrow gives you a way to clear the lineup for the next idea.
Sprunki questions
Is Sprunki the original Incredibox?+
Sprunki is an Incredibox community mod. This version is provided by AZGames.
How many sounds can I combine?+
There are twenty sound icons and seven character positions. Drag icons onto characters to build the lineup, and use X under a character to remove its sound.
How do I hear one character on its own?+
Use the headphone icon beneath an assigned character for solo. The speaker icon is the mute control, useful for comparing a mix with and without that part.
How do I start a completely new mix?+
Click the circular arrow at the top right to reset the lineup, then drag sound icons onto the characters again.
Why can I not hear anything?+
Interact with the game and check device volume and the browser tab mute setting. Also check whether you have muted a character with its speaker icon.
How do I enter the dark mode?+
Drag the black top-hat icon at the far right of the second row onto an empty character. After a black-screen transition, the scene changes to a dark red sky with eyes and eerie-looking characters. This changes the visual style of the scene and characters.
