Connect matching colors · Fill the grid
Puzzle Box: Connect: make room for every color
Several pairs of colored endpoints share one grid. Draw a route for each pair, but leave enough space for the remaining colors and cover the entire board. A short connection can be a poor choice if it traps another endpoint or leaves an isolated empty square.
Before you draw a line
- Join each colored endpoint to its matching partner
- Paths must cover the board without overlapping
- Hold the left mouse button to draw; release to finish a connection
- The official game listing marks this version as not mobile ready
Start with the Connect board
Study all endpoint pairs before holding down the mouse.
- 1
Choose the Connect puzzle
Select the CONNECT card, open the introductory puzzle group and choose its first available level. Read the endpoint arrangement before beginning a line; later boards may use different layouts.
- 2
Plan a complete set of routes
Find both endpoints of every color. Compare the narrow passages between them and consider which pair has the fewest possible routes. Leave space for the other pairs instead of solving each color in isolation.
- 3
Draw from one endpoint to its partner
Press the left mouse button on a colored endpoint and keep holding it while tracing your intended route across neighboring squares. Follow the turns carefully and release at the matching endpoint to finish that connection.
- 4
Check the spaces between your lines
After joining the pairs, inspect every remaining square. Completing the board requires coverage as well as matching endpoints. A line that reaches its partner may still need a different route to leave a solvable arrangement.
Drawing colored routes
Desktop pointer
- Begin a path by holding the left mouse button on one colored endpoint.
- Keep the button held as you trace the route, including any required turns.
- Release the mouse button at the same-colored partner to finish the connection.
- Keep the pointer within the puzzle board while drawing between squares.
Mobile availability
- Use a desktop or laptop with a mouse for this version of Puzzle Box: Connect.
- The publisher marks the game as not mobile ready, so this guide does not offer a phone or tablet control scheme.
Why a connection needs a plan
The whole board is part of the answer
Matching endpoints is only one part of the task. The routes must also occupy the board, so empty pockets matter even after several colors are connected.
Colors compete for shared space
A route can block a passage that another pair needs. Think about the unfinished colors before committing to a narrow corridor.
One continuous pointer gesture
A line is drawn by holding and moving the mouse, then releasing it at its partner. Treat corners as part of the same route rather than a series of separate clicks.
Keep the unfinished colors in mind
- Inspect corner and edge endpoints first, because their routes have fewer directions to leave.
- Reserve narrow passages for pairs that cannot reasonably go around them.
- Look for empty squares that could become cut off by an otherwise convenient connection.
- When a color remains stranded, reconsider an earlier route instead of forcing a crossing.
- When a pointing hand guides the first board, connect its indicated color before trying another pair.
Who might enjoy the grid
Players who enjoy spatial planning
You must balance several routes on one board, choosing where each color can pass without using another’s space.
Fans of compact logic puzzles
The colored endpoints give you a clear visual goal, while full-board coverage adds a second layer of reasoning.
Complete the board to advance
Progress comes from solving a complete board and moving to the next puzzle. The practical target is not merely drawing several successful connections: every pair must be joined, the routes must avoid overlap and the grid must be filled. Judge an attempted solution against all three conditions.
Puzzle Box: Connect questions
Is connecting all matching pairs enough to finish?+
The official objective also requires filling the board. Check for empty squares and overlapping routes, even when each pair appears to be linked.
How do I draw a route that turns a corner?+
Hold the left mouse button throughout the route, move through the turning squares and release only when you reach the matching endpoint.
Can two colored paths use the same square?+
No. The routes must not overlap, so plan separate space for every color.
Does this version support phone controls?+
The publisher’s listing says Mobile Ready: No. Use a desktop or laptop mouse for the click-and-drag controls described here.
What should I do if an advertisement appears before play?+
Wait for the advertisement’s own skip or close control to become available. Use that control to return to the puzzle; the advertisement artwork itself is not a game button.
