Stickman Army The Resistance: two soldiers, one tower, enemies on both flanks
Stickman Army The Resistance is a 2D tower-defence shooter by Playtouch in which you command two stickman soldiers standing back to back on a wooden watchtower. One covers the left, the other the right, and enemy stickmen with axes and guns come from both directions to knock the tower down. For each soldier you choose between two jobs: build a defence such as a sandbag wall, or pick up a weapon and fire at the enemies you point to. A soldier who is building cannot shoot, so the game is about splitting attention between the two sides. It was first released for Android in October 2016 and came to web browsers in November 2017; the version embedded here is set in a jungle, with palm trees and a wire fence behind the tower.

How to play Stickman Army The Resistance
You win a level by wiping out every enemy wave. You lose it the moment an enemy lands a direct hit on the base of your tower.

Shop before the fight
After picking a level, the shop lets you upgrade the pistol, unlock new guns and buy defences such as sandbags, spiked barriers and turrets.

Build the first walls
Level 1 walks you through building a sandbag wall on each side. Tap a soldier's wrench button and choose the defence from the ring menu.

Arm and aim
Tap the gun button to switch that soldier back to shooting, then click on his side of the field. He fires at the nearest enemy in that area.

Hold both flanks
Enemies keep arriving from left and right. Move your attention between the two soldiers so neither side is left unguarded.

What sets Stickman Army The Resistance apart
Build or shoot, never both
GamePix explains that a soldier cannot attack while he is building. Every wall you put up leaves that side briefly without covering fire.
Rage mode
Poki and CrazyGames both describe a rage mode that lets your soldiers fire twice as many bullets as in normal mode, for when a side is about to break.
A real arsenal to unlock
The shop lists eight guns, from the starting pistol and a 3,000-coin shotgun to a minigun, rocket launcher, assault rifle and sniper rifle.
Six kinds of fortification
Defences range from sandbags (upgrade 5,000 coins) through spiked barriers, a wooden stake barricade and a turret to a 12,000-coin anti-tank hedgehog.
Tips for Stickman Army The Resistance
- Prioritise star enemies. GamePix says starred enemies give more reward if killed quickly, and an alert at the bottom of the screen points them out.
- Shoot the fast ones first. Enemies with heavy weapons move slower and have more health, so the quick attackers are the bigger threat to the tower.
- Always keep one wall up. GamePix recommends having at least one line of defence around the tower at all times.
- Expect to replay for coins. The game gets hard early, and GamePix's FAQ says progress stalls without new weapons and upgrades.
- Use the ad bonus for big buys. One video in the shop gives 5,000 coins, the price of a sandbag upgrade.
