Battleops: a first-person shooter campaign set after a zombie takeover
Battleops is a single-player first-person shooter with a story campaign: you play a former military expert who wakes up after a long blackout and has to learn why zombies have taken over the world. The campaign is split into chapters, and each chapter holds a run of levels with objectives, new weapons, new enemy types and bosses. The mobile version on Google Play is published by TapNation, and its store text matches the GamePix listing line for line. Of the three shooters on What Games Play, Battleops is the only one built around a plot and mission objectives; Commando Force 2 is a timed arena match and Funny Shooter 2 is a cartoon kill-count shooter.

How to play Battleops
Battleops is played mission by mission. Each level tells you what to do in a sub-objectives panel, and the story moves forward as you clear them.

Choose a language
The first screen lists 13 languages with flags, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Nepali and Uzbek. Pick one and press the green SELECT button.

Watch the wake-up scene
The campaign opens indoors as your character comes round in a dim room full of crates, before control passes to you.

Read the sub-objectives
A panel in the top-left corner lists the level goals. In the first mission they are to eliminate 5 enemy soldiers and to finish without dropping to critical health.

Pick up better weapons
You start with a pistol that shows 9 rounds and infinite reserve ammo, plus a melee slot. On-screen prompts such as "PICKUP THE G36" point you to stronger guns.

Tips for Battleops
- Grab the G36 early. The opening pistol holds 9 rounds per clip; the rifle the game tells you to pick up gives you more room before a reload.
- Watch the health condition. One first-mission sub-objective fails if you fall to critical health, so back off and use cover before your health gets that low.
- Count the soldiers. The "eliminate 5 enemy soldiers" goal is a fixed number; keep track so you know when that part of the mission is done.
- Set difficulty before a boss. If a boss fight keeps ending your run, lower the difficulty from the menu rather than replaying the same attempt.
- Set your keys first. Since no default layout is published, open the settings before level one and put fire, reload and crouch where you want them.
