Knife io: two blades, one arena, and a reset to level 1 if you fall
Knife io is a 2D top-down arena fighting game in which every fighter holds two knives and grows larger as it levels up. You earn experience by knocking out rivals and by picking up the colored orbs scattered across the floor; each level makes your hero bigger, hits harder and reaches further. One knockout, though, drops you straight back to level 1. On top of the basic attack you have two skills on cooldown, and a leaderboard in the corner ranks the top three fighters. The build on GamePix is version 1.1.3, and GamePix does not name a developer. It should not be confused with the CrazyGames title Knife.io, a different knife-throwing game from Mao Games.

How to play Knife io
The arena is small and crowded, so every round is about getting hits in while staying out of reach of bigger fighters.

Pick a hero
The title screen shows a RANDOM HEROES panel on the right. Press Random until you get a look you like, then press PLAY.

Collect orbs
Colored orbs lie all over the dark hexagon floor. Walk over them for experience while you size up the fighters around you.

Land body hits
Only direct hits on a body count as damage; numbers float up from the target when a hit lands. Knock a fighter out and it vanishes, leaving you its experience.

Grow without falling
Each level makes you larger and extends your reach. If your health bar empties, you start again from level 1.

Desktop
- Arrow keys move your twin-blade hero around the arena
- Space swings the two knives for a basic attack
- N fires Skill 1 and M fires Skill 2, each on its own cooldown
- Mouse control also works, but GamePix recommends the keyboard as faster
Phone & tablet
- A virtual joystick sits in the lower-left of the arena
- Three round buttons on the right trigger the basic attack and both skills
- The arena is drawn in landscape, so play with the phone turned sideways
What sets Knife io apart
Size is power and risk
Leveling up makes your fighter bigger, so it deals more damage and reaches further. It also makes you a bigger target, as GamePix points out.
One life per climb
There are no extra lives in a run: a single knockout takes you back to level 1, so every level is something to protect.
Two skills with cooldowns
Skill 1 and Skill 2 add attacks beyond the basic swing. Because they recharge, timing them matters more than spamming them.
A roster of random heroes
The Random button cycles through character looks such as a clown, a ninja and a helmeted soldier. No source says the heroes differ in strength.
Tips for Knife io
- Stay off the center. GamePix advises keeping to the sides of the small arena, where fewer fighters can reach you at once.
- Attack from the side or back. Hits only count on the body, so approach where the rival's blades are not pointing.
- Save skills for the finish. GamePix suggests using skills once a target is below about half health, since they have a cooldown.
- Farm orbs after a reset. At level 1 you are small; collecting floor orbs is a safer way back up than picking fights.
- Keep an eye on the top three. The leaderboard shows who has the highest score, which is a clue to which fighters are largest.

Experience comes from two sources: knocking out rivals and collecting orbs from the floor. Enough experience raises your level, which increases your size, damage and reach. The leaderboard in the top-left corner shows the three highest scores in the arena. Being knocked out resets your level to 1, so your score only lasts as long as you do.
