Drunken Boxing 2: two tipsy stickmen, one ring, first to five

Drunken Boxing 2 is a physics-driven stickman boxing game by RHM Interactive in which two swaying fighters trade punches in a 3D ring until one of them reaches 5 points. Each boxer can only step forward, step back and punch with the left or right fist, so the fight comes down to distance, timing and a small energy bar that drains with every swing. The title screen offers two buttons: 1P puts you against a computer opponent labelled CPU, and 2P splits the keyboard so two people can box on the same computer. RHM Interactive also made Drunken Duel, the pistol-duel game in the same drunk-stickman style, which is on What Games Play as well; Drunken Boxing 2 is the one where you move around and fight up close.

How to play Drunken Boxing 2

A match is a series of short rounds. Each punch that lands takes some health off the other boxer, and a string of hits can knock him out for the point.

Choose 1P or 2P
Press 1P to box against the computer, or 2P if a second person is sitting at the same keyboard. The question-mark button shows the key layout.

Wait for FIGHT!
A short countdown and a FIGHT! banner open every round. The orange boxer is Player 1; the blue one is the CPU or Player 2.

Close the distance and punch
Step forward until your fists can reach, then alternate left and right punches. Step back when the other boxer starts swinging.

Manage the energy bar
The thin bar under your health drops with each punch and refills slowly. Rest for a moment before it empties, then press again.

Tips for Drunken Boxing 2

Punch in pairs, then pause. Two quick hits followed by a short rest keeps the energy bar from emptying at the worst moment.
Use the back step. Pressing S (or Down for Player 2) pulls you out of range while the other boxer wastes energy on air.
Watch the other bar too. When your opponent's energy is low, step in; he cannot answer with full-power punches.
Alternate fists. Switching between the two punch keys keeps attacks coming from both sides instead of repeating one swing.
Learn the keys on the help screen. The question-mark button on the title screen shows both players' layouts before a 2P match.
