Cocoon Crossing

Cocoon Crossing is a three-dimensional garden routing puzzle. Drag each caterpillar toward a cocoon of the same colour, arranging routes around obstacles and using bridges and tunnels when two creatures need to cross.

How to play

Cocoon Crossing uses the following sequence.

  1. 1

    Cocoon Crossing: prepare

Inspect the garden board before moving a caterpillar. Locate each coloured cocoon, note which worm belongs there and identify places where routes would intersect at the same height.

  2. 2

    Cocoon Crossing: act

Drag the head or tail to make a caterpillar crawl across the tiles. Two caterpillars cannot occupy one tile on the same level, so a crossing needs an upper bridge route and a lower tunnel route.

  3. 3

    Cocoon Crossing: reach the objective

Bring every caterpillar to its matching cocoon so it can hatch into a butterfly. Plan around rocks, mud, thorns, ice and one-way gates as those obstacles appear on the board.

Controls

Desktop

  • With a mouse, drag a Cocoon Crossing caterpillar by its head or tail; use the garden tiles to guide the route toward its colour-matched destination.

Phone and tablet

  • On a phone or tablet, drag the caterpillar head or tail with a finger. The same bridge-and-tunnel routing rule applies to the touch version of the garden puzzle.

Game mechanics

Cocoon Crossing: distinctive mechanics

Two separate heights make intersections possible without letting worms share the same level. The sunlit garden presentation accompanies different terrain hazards, destination colours and several puzzle modes.

Playing tips

  • Before assigning a shared crossing, decide which Cocoon Crossing worm uses the bridge and which uses the tunnel. Establishing the two heights early prevents a same-level route conflict later.

Who might enjoy it

Cocoon Crossing players

Cocoon Crossing is for players who prefer spatial planning to quick reactions. Looking ahead across the whole board matters more than dragging the nearest caterpillar without considering its neighbours.

Progress and results

The official Cocoon Crossing listing describes 140 handcrafted levels, an endless Zen mode, a daily puzzle and collectible butterflies. Each board is solved by routing all caterpillars to their own cocoons.
