Anime Couple Dress Up: style a boyfriend and girlfriend side by side

Anime Couple Dress Up is a portrait-mode dress-up game from ARPAPLUS in which you pick one of four anime couples and choose clothes for both partners at once. GamePix counts more than 250 clothing items, and the wardrobe is split into categories you flip through along the bottom of the screen: hairstyles, hats, dresses, tops, jackets, trousers, skirts, shoes and neckwear for her, then a separate set of hair, hats and shirts for him. Each couple starts in swimwear on a beach at sunset, so every outfit is built from scratch. There is no timer, no score and no right answer; when a look is finished, the camera button in the top-right corner takes a screenshot of the pair. The game is built in Unity and first came out on Android in January 2018 before the browser version followed in October 2022.

How to play Anime Couple Dress Up

A session has two screens: the couple picker and the dressing room. Everything happens with single taps or left clicks.

Choose a couple
The first screen shows four framed cards in a 2 × 2 grid. Tap one to load that pair into the dressing room.

Pick a clothing category
The lower of the two bottom rows holds the categories. Swipe it sideways to reach shoes, neckwear and the boyfriend's sections.

Tap items to try them on
The upper row lists every item in the chosen category. Tapping one puts it on the right partner straight away; tap another to swap it.

Save the result
Press the camera button at the top right to capture the finished couple, or the back arrow at the top left to pick a different pair.

The girlfriend and boyfriend stand next to each other throughout, so you can match colours or deliberately clash them without switching screens.

Separate sections for every garment type

Dresses, tops, jackets, trousers and skirts each get their own tab. In our test the dress tab opened on a sheer pink gown and the jacket tab on a white baseball jacket.

Four starting couples

Each card shows a different pair with its own hair colours and default outfit, from a cherry-blossom look to a scarf-and-beret autumn look.

Built for an upright screen

The 600 × 800 portrait frame keeps both characters full length with the two item rows underneath, which suits a phone held vertically.

Tips for Anime Couple Dress Up

Swipe the category bar. Only seven tabs fit at once; shoes, neckwear and all of the boyfriend's clothes sit further to the right.
Dress one partner fully first. Finishing her outfit before starting on him makes it easier to pick colours that go together.
Layer a jacket over a top. Jackets sit on top of the shirt you already chose, so a plain top under a patterned jacket reads clearly.
Mix event wear with everyday pieces. GamePix's own hint for the game is to pair occasion outfits with casual clothes.
Look for the video badge. Thumbnails marked with a small video icon are unlocked by watching an ad; the rest can be worn right away.
